Yoga Hive is a small boutique studio situated in Rietondale, Pretoria. Classes are Hatha based with a very strong Iyengar influence. Focus is placed on precision in movement and correct alignment (for your anatomical structure) to guide students safely in and out of postures.
A typical 1h30mins yoga class at Yoga Hive consists of static postures with longer holds to give students time to experience the full posture with all its subtleties and added therapeutic value. Our approach to yoga is holistic and once a firm asana practice is established we incorporate pranayama and meditation. Our aim is to ensure that you experience yoga as a whole, with all of its benefits and practices and not just a physical workout.
Classes are suited to all levels, whether you are a beginner or seasoned practitioner and are taught in such a way as to encourage self-practice in our students. Postures will be adapted to suit your body’s physical structure or needs. We provide all needed props to assist you safely during class time. All you need to bring is your mat (and yourself)!
Classes are small with limited space available to ensure that every student gets the needed proper attention. Bookings are essential and your payment secures your spot.

Yes! We all started somewhere! Poses are adapted to suit every students level and ability. We also offer blankets, blocks, foams, straps and bolsters to assist.
Yes, please book in advance. Space is limited and booking is essential to securing your spot.
Always please see a physician about any injury or physical condition. Please let us know prior to the commencement of class regarding any injuries or conditions. Postures can be adapted to accommodate physical injuries, often with the use of props etc.
It really does depend o your body. But, for maximum results 2-3 times a week is recommended. At Yoga Hive we teach in such a manner to encourage self practice.. so you can practice as often as you like, whenever you need it!
